Consignment Rules
We accept gently worn, clean, and current clothing for: Babies & Kids, Teens, Women, , Shoes, Accessories, and Select Maternity Wear.
For Baby, Kids & Teen Consignment we do not accept any items from Temu, Shein (or equivalent), or Ardene. Joe Fresh & George/ Athletic works will be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
For Adult Consignment we do not accept the following brands: Ardene, Shein (or equivalent), Warehouse One, George, Joe Fresh, Amazon, Tanjay & Alia. We also do not accept camisoles/Tank tops unless they are athletic tops like from Lululemon, Adidas, Nike, Puma etc.
All items must be freshly laundered, in excellent condition, and free of stains, holes, odor, or pet hair.
Any items that are provided in poor condition that require our team to take additional action to be saleable, the split will be 80/20 favoring the store or the item will be immediately donated.
We follow seasonal trends, so we may only accept certain styles at specific times of year. Holiday-themed items (e.g., Christmas, Halloween) and winter wear (e.g., toques, mitts, heavy coats) are accepted only during the appropriate season.
Spring & Summer Drop offs March 1st - August 1st Fall & Winter August 1st - February 28th
Non-clothing items (e.g., activity centers, baby monitors, strollers) must be clean, complete, and in good working condition — batteries must be included and functional, as we do not supply them. We do not accept small toys (ex. books, dolls, teddy bears, Puzzles, Playdough ...)
Consignment Quick Steps
Step 1. Book a consignment drop off appointment here. Step 2. Pick out no more then 20 items you would like to consign Step 3. Make sure your items are clean and in working order. All clothing items should be freshly laundered within 5 days of your appointment. *Please do not bring items straight from storage (Example: Basement, Garage, Closet or Dresser) without being washed. Step 4. Make sure all items follow our consignment rules Step 5. Bring your drop off the day of your appointment. Please note you may come anytime during business hours the day of your appointment. Please be sure to give yourself enough time to read/sign our contract and create an account if you do not already have one with us.
How it Works
Consignors receive 40% of the selling price. Items remain on the floor for up to 120 days. After that, they are either donated or added to a donation account. Maternity wear and sports gear may stay longer, at Lil Hoots’ discretion.
Items may be marked down at any time for sales or promotions (Example: Shoe Sale, Last Chance, Seniors’ Day).
Payouts can be requested at any time in-store as merchandise credit, or via cheque (processed on the 1st of each month). Payouts must be requested verbally or in writing (email, Facebook, or Instagram)
